TAIWAN COLLABORATES WITH NIGERIA ON DISEASE CONTROL STRATEGIES

Amidst global cooperation to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the Taiwan government has expressed its willingness to share its expertise with Nigeria in disease control strategy; as it donates 100,000 face masks.

While presenting the 100,000 medical mask donation from the Taiwan’ government to Nigeria in Lagos recently, Mr.Vicent Yang, Taiwan representative in Nigeria stated: “We know that a strong defence against the virus can only be achieved globally through joint effort. Taiwan is willing to share her experiences in disease control with Nigeria, as Taiwan has been able to contain the pandemic and minimise its impact on people’s lives and daily activities”.

According to global statistics, Taiwan has only recorded 443 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 7 deaths.

The Taiwanese representative said his country had been able to contain the spread of the virus in time due to appropriate regulations and strict border control measures; stressing that the country has never enforced a stay-at-home order.
