The appointment of Mr. Gabriel Tanimu Aduda as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can best be described as an injection of the much-needed fresh breath of innovative, vibrant, and progressive leadership into MFA; Nigeria’s gateway to international relations and the seat of image-maker.
Until his redeployment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Gabriel was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He had previously served as Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
A vast and experienced Public Administrator, the new Permanent Secretary had played outstanding role as a foremost anti-corruption practitioner having served as Commissioner at the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Researcher at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution.
His keen interests in the course of his career as a Civil Servant have focused on promoting clean and accountable governance in the Nigeria Public Service. For the most part, his aspiration for a better democracy and good governance has seen him undertake consultancy and project management works with the World Bank, European Union, USAID, DFID and the UNDP.
The widely-read bureaucrat has also authored several books, many articles and journals.
