Mr. Olusegun Awolowo, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has been identified as one of the most dynamic, proactive, and forward-looking executives in Nigeria’s public sector today, operating along with the same pedestal with his peers within the comity of nations.
A seasoned legal practitioner cum technocrat, Awolowo has a rich pedigree in the public and private sectors of Nigeria’s development as a modern reformist, patriot, and a unique promotor of MSMEs.
He was first appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013 and at the expiration of his tenure, has performed exceedingly well in reforming the organization, he was reappointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018 for another four-year tenure.
Under his leadership, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council has taken a new shape, owing to the reform and several trade promotion policies, activities, and projects are adroitly driven to achieve unmatched results.
Among his many achievements at the NEPC is the Zero Oil plan, an economic blueprint for Nigeria, which aims to generate $30billion in foreign exchange earnings by increasing the country’s export through an increase in the production of homemade goods.
