The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada has congratulated the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of China to Nigeria, Dr. Zhou Pingjian, for a successful tour of duty in Nigeria. He stated this when he received the outgoing Chinese Ambassador in his office on a farewell visit.
Ambassador Dada described the over three years’ stay of the outgoing
Ambassador in Nigeria as very fruitful ones. He said the dedication and commitment of Amb. Pingjianthrough-out his stay in Nigeria had led to the tremendous improvement of Nigeria-China relations and pledged to continue to ensure the sustainability of the already well-built relationship between the two continental Giants.
In his remarks, Dr. Zhou Pingjian while expressing delight and gratitude to the Foreign Ministry for making his stay in Nigeria a worthwhile experience, said he wished he could stay longer.
He also noted that bilateral agreements between the two countries have grown since his assumption of duty three years ago and reaffirmed that no matter the level of development of China, it would remain Nigeria’s best and reliable partner.
While appreciating the support and understanding of Nigeria in China’sbattle to tackle the outbreak of Covid-19, Amb. Pingjian also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support and cooperation.
“Nigeria would continue to be a home for me and my family anytime, any day”, Amb. Pingjian further stated.
