The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian government to implement all the projects and programs under the Economy Sustainability Plan that was recently approved by the National Executive Council.
This was disclosed by theHonourable Minister during the recent virtual meeting with the leaders of the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), held todiscuss the provision of stimuluspackages to assist operations in thesector, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The stimulus package will include a N50 billion survival funds for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) and a N15 billion guaranteed Uptake Scheme to save500,000 jobs, with 40 percent of thefunds from the interventions by the government reserved for women-owned businesses.
The meeting had in attendance,Hajiya Saratu IyaAliyu, President, NACCIMA; Mr. Ahmed Mansur, President, MAN; Mr. TaiwoAdeniyi, President, NECA; Mr. SolomonVongfa, President, NASSI; and Mr.OrimadegunAgboade, President, NASME.
In her remarks, the President of the OPSN, MrsIyaAliyu, commended the Minister for the opportunity given to the private sector to present its positions and requests and called for closer ties between the OPSN and the Ministry, especially as the country is working towards rebooting the economy.
