D-8 Signs HQS Agreement on Health & Social Protection Office
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation has continued to foster stronger relations among the member states; especially in the area of health and social integration.
To underscore its renewed commitment, the Secretary-General of the D-8; Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari and other D-8 representatives were in Nigeria recently for the official signing of an agreement to establish D-8 Headquarters on Health and Social Protection Programme in Nigeria. The signing is expected to affect the hosting of the health and social programme of the organization in Nigeria.
In attendance at the signing were: Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, Secretary-General D-8 Organization, and his team; Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and other relevant stakeholders.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ambassador Zubairu Dada on behalf of Nigeria while Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari signed on behalf of the D-8 Organization.
The signing of the MOU will undoubtedly help to enhance the economic cooperation and wellbeing of Nigeria as a member state.
