AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH GOLD CENTRE IN NIGERIA

As part of efforts to support Nigeria’s quest for economic diversification, the Australian government has revealed plans to establish a gold processing centre in Nigeria.

Ms.Clarie Ireland, Australian High Commissioner to Nigeria made this known while speaking with Mrs.SuratuIyaAliyu, President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) during a visit to the Australian High Commission in Abuja recently.

The Australian High Com-missioner revealed that the Australian government has a five year engagement programme with Nigeria’s private sector in providing technical assistance, investments and equipment in the area of services for the mining sector.

Mrs.Aliyu, President of NACCIMA during her presentation called for a deeper economic relations between Nigeria and Australia’s, so as to fast-track the development of Nigeria’s mining and agricultural sector.
